Would you hang horror art like this in your house?

I just came across some horror art by Tanya Gomelskaya and it honestly made me pause. She doesn’t just paint the creatures… she actually sculpts them so they crawl out of the frame, which makes the whole piece look alive. It’s creepy but also weirdly beautiful.

Part of me thinks it would be amazing to have something like that on the wall… It looks incredible… but also like something that might start moving when the lights go out lol..

Would you put horror art like this in your home, or is that a hard no?

Damn it I thought I was going to get a good night sleep tonight no no no no no no no no no no no no no no way I would put them in a barn in a Halloween I would put them in a abandoned house but there's no way in this world I want to see that before I go to bed when I wake up in the morning no no no no even though whoever did that art is really really good I mean that's the best part about it is on how good it really is but no I feel the energy going through my chest right now and no did I say no because if I didn't say no I mean no no no no

That is so cool. Reminds of this other guy I was looking into the other day. Banksy A famous artist turned street artist or maybe the other way around. I didn't read the whole article the pictures were better then words. These two I found catching. Guess he has been blamed for like 2000 street arts like this.

Oh, I actually love those! I'd prolly hang it up but be scared of it and cover it with a blanket at nite! 🤣 We do have some darker art in our place like a pic similar to this.

We already have many similar artworks in our house, and some are far more graphic than those. We can't buy any more, as we have run out of wall space. Dammit!

I know Tanya Gomelskaya’s work, and it’s such a perfect blend of creepy and gorgeous 😍
I’d totally hang one in a hallway or studio, not the bedroom. I love art that makes you slightly uncomfortable but you can’t stop staring at it. It would be amazing for movie nights and Halloween vibes year-round 👻🖼️

Uhhh 2nd and 3rd aren't anything close to horror to me lol, just regular contemporary art. The 2nd especially is dead on CA, since it brings what doesn't belong to art (the frame) into art.

I wouldn't install anything horror, really not my stuff, but I would certainly hang something contemporary, the 2nd in particular. The 3rd sounds a bit too classical to me, that is, for something contemporary.

i like odilon redon art a lot. like some of his paintings (like 'Armor') legit put me at comfort and just feel something i can't articulate. a mix of longing and relief if that makes any sense lol

If it's "bonafide art" to you—meaning it inspires you to an extent that you relate to it and would consider it substantially relevant to your para-identity—then sure, hang it on your wall, chat about it with your guests, stand there and just marvel at it now and then. Stuff in your physical space should enrich your mental space.

If not, it's just a decoration. I'm of the opinion that mere decorations make spaces feel attention-deficit, contrived, and more hollow both intellectually and emotionally - and it's a fact that having too many "just things" around tends to herd people in their vicinity toward dopamine holes instead of happy places. Then again, I also think the notion of physical "conversation pieces" is intellectual lazy; that's what we have imaginations for, right? So... grain of salt and all that.

What if instead of horror there was humor.

Its a woman mannequin or man mannequin types and they’re naked, but their hands are covering their private parts and have a horrified look of embarrassment like someone stole their clothes to wear.
