Are all old stories true?

I'm pinching this question from Feeling dumb lately? Would this perspective make you feel better? ↗

Little Red Riding Hood is a popular children's story, but a lot of people don't know it was the French who first gave her a red hood.

The story probably evolved from a century middle east tale called the Wolf and the Kids around 2000 years ago www.science.org/.../evolution-little-red-riding-hood so it might as well be in the bible.

We all know stories evolve over time, but if you look at many ancient ones you'll find real people and events behind them that inspired the original story tellers. Strip away the Disney, and other modern adaptations and at the heart there's a true event. The stories get passed down orally, translated between languages, and when eventually written down much is changed yet the seeds from which they sprout hold true.

I put it to you a real girl was fooled by a wolf in her Granny's bed. In fact I propose the story took hold in so many countries because lots of people were falling victim to wolves mimicking little old ladies. Remember people were pretty dumb back then so it wouldn't be hard for a wolf to out smart them.

I also put it to you that all old stories no matter how weird, have more than a grain of truth behind them.

Bonus question. Should we respect the Wolf's choice to dress in ladies clothes and identity as a woman? How does that make him bad? Drop the hate.
