I was moved by the film more than I thought I would be, when I finally saw it 🥹😭
The trailer popped up a few times when in cinemas when I was there for other films. I saw it - loved it - and it's a difficult film and I sympathize with the marketing department how to market a questionable subject matter of art.
That said 🎨🎭 - there was wonderfully shot scenes visually like the lead character's flashbacks played by a spitting image younger actor, the upbringing of his mother not to lose touch with his higher class roots by learning archery and other upper class habits 👔 suit and tie. Spoiler alerts.
And just the overall religious element with the priest - the beaten up Honda - the Lockett 🔒🔐 and the way the archery even saves his life.
It's a very moving film. Even upcoming The Devil Wears Prada 2, the Powell movie 🎥🍿 is my number #1 film for 2026.
God bless :)
