You're charging $50 a ticket for ONE FUCKING MOVIE which, in most cases, these days, ISN'T EVEN VERY GOOD!! So, what do you get? Between one and four people to come and watch you run the movie ONE TIME!! Okay, you made as much as $200 just to show your movie!! lower your prices to maybe A DOLLAR PER SHOWING and you'll have HUNDREDS of people coming to see the movie!! They'll be lined up to come see it for every showing!!! Especially if it's a GOOD MOVIE!!!

Because of this, you'll be making HUNDREDS, if not THOUSANDS more per day!!! DUUUUHHHH!!! Lower your concession prices!! You'll sell a LOT more!! I can't TELL YOU how many times I've gone to a movie theatre and REFUSED to buy any of their food and drinks BECAUSE IT'S TOO FUCKING EXPENSIVE!!! Not unless it was something I really really wanted to see. Those prices are pretty crazy though, our local theater cost 8 or $9 per ticket. Even when we went to the IMAX to watch a movie one time it was like 20 or $30 per ticket, And that was for the VIP seats

We have totally given up on movie theaters. Waste of time, money, gas, and more and more movies lately are simply tired rehashes of what has gone before. The original movies - and TV series for that matter- are better than any sequel most of the time anyway! (look what happened to "new" MacGyver - yuk!)

For $50 It better be a super block buster with all my favorite actors, all practical affects, a story that is so amazing I laugh and cry and free all you can eat popcorn.

If it’s just a random Friday-night movie, no way 😅
But for something special, I absolutely would.

For example, I’d pay $50 for IMAX or 70mm for a Nolan film, a big Marvel/Star Wars premiere with early access, or a festival screening at somewhere like Cannes or a director Q&A night.

For a regular movie, though, I’d rather wait or stream it at home 🍿🎬

Damn, I went in 17 twice 18 twice before that was Mattix 2 & 3 in 02 & 03 before that was 89 Great Balls of Fire. Before that was 84 then the drought began as before then I went a lot from being a kid till about 21.

I don't have a clue what years they came out or what order they were released in but, the last ones I saw, in the `90's, were, "Powder", "Premonition", "Stargate", "Showgirls", "Encino Man" (Paully Shore), and "The Majestic".
Before that, the last time I went to the movies was probably in `78 when I worked at Cedar Point. I know I saw one, I just don't recall what it was. Possibly "Animal House".
However, I DID see the Imax movies they had the Carnegie Science Center when I was working there between, `90 and `91.
Oh! I saw, "The Wall" shortly after it came out in the mid `80's. `87?

I don't know when it came out but I saw it in the summer of `87. I asked a girl I was in love with to go with me and she said yes but asked if a good friend of ours could come with us. I said he could. We got to the theatre and he ended up sitting between us and the two of them chatted all through the movie COMPLETELY ignoring the "host" of this date, ME!! So, while they were ignoring me, I got up and moved to a seat in the back, away from them. They never even noticed I was gone!! Just as the credits started rolling, I got up and walked out!! A few minutes later, THEN, they started to wonder where I was and remembered that I came with them!!! Next thing I know, THEY were dating each other!! So, if you ever wanna start seeing a girl, let ME ask her out on a date and then you can come with us and get it on with her!

I can relate. In about 1975 this real pretty girl of 12 and I just turned 13 a few months before had broken up with Larry, my best friend. So I think that I'll try to smooge it up and get with her at the Martin Theater that Friday night. My friend didn't go. I guess it was to painful. So I went with another friend. We found out preferred seats and he had to go up front fot something and after about 15 minutes, the movie playing Ode to Billy Joe, I looked back toward the entry and scanned for Angela as well as Mark. About 3 rows directly behind me he sat with his long as arm around her neck. I spun around and I went nuclear! I snatched myself up and stared him down walking past and exited the theater. It hurt me and really pissed me off. She put up with him about 5 days then got back with Larry. Those two always were breaking up.
