I know it's a problem for magicians because when they ask people to pick a card there's a risk they won't know what it's called.

I do but it's so hard to find anyone to play with, anymore! The guy down the street from me has stacks and stacks of decks that he uses to play something with friends of his but, I don't know what or when they get together to play. I've asked and got almost no info.
I always used to play with my family at get togethers: holidays, birthdays or, in the summer time, just sitting around the pool. Or, if my dad's sister or brother came into town, they'd get two of the other local brothers to come over and play penny-ante poker.
Back in what day? Just one day in particular? People keep mentioning that but refuse to ever tell me which day that is.
I like to play Hearts. Simple and easy to teach the rules in a couple of minutes. Anyone can play. But there's also enough strategy and card counting is sorta mandatory so there's something to keep everyone involved. And the pace can be fast or slow. But even veteran players can still be thrown off because there is also an element of random chance in the deal and other player's individual strategies. The one problem is you need exactly 4 people to play.
Yes. Bridge with my family. It's a team game where you learn to communicate without words so subtle other player pairs don't get it.
It's definitely a card game beyond Donnie’s mental limitations he needs to cheat or to change all 30 second game rules to benefit his cards otherwise it ends in tantrum.
Winning can every fool but losing with style and elegance is an art.
Tons of people play the card game Magic the Gathering, but not a lot of people I know are really into regular games.
People absolutely still play cards 😊 Poker nights are still huge, especially Texas Hold’em, and games like Uno, Exploding Kittens, and Cards Against Humanity revived the whole “card night” vibe.
Traditional decks are common in families that play bridge, rummy, or solitaire, and a lot of older folks still know every card by heart. Magicians mostly run into that issue with very young kids, not adults. ♠️♦️♣️❤️

I haven't played any cards for literally years..
At 17 in the HSC room ( filled with smoke ) , every day.
Rekindled a bit when my kids were young..
But I have a deck here somewhere.
Yup they do, all over the planet. As board games, as video games, offline, online, ancient card games, new ones, variants and stuff.
Cards don't want to die.
More likely to play Yahtzee, or Risk. Similar sort of thing anyway. SAY! If he got all those cards playing Uno isn't he losing? Just a thought
Yes, thankfully, as my employment depends on it.
Im not sure that people still sit around the house and play bridge, but they definitely go to the casino and play blackjack and baccarat or the card house to play poker.
Sometimes I play with my wife at some games she always wins
I play uno, war and taco cat goat cheese pizza with my family
I play bridge, sometimes, when I find a conducive quadruplet.
It's probably 15 years since I played any sort of card game. Nobody wants to play with me.
Sometimes I'll rarely play Uno or similar games if really bored or for family quality time / nostalgia at Christmas or similar
