It's a good thing that can help you but doesn't automatically mean that you're intelligent.

In many countries speaking 3-4 languages isn't anyone uncommon. Adding one more doesn't change anything about the persons intelligence, it just means that they had some reason and he dedication to learn another one.

I feel it shows that they are generally interested and open to explore/learn about different cultures. But you're right it's more a sign of dedication and open mindedness than simply intelligence.

One can have no thoughts at all... but will be (un) able to express them in a variety of languages.
