How do you feel knowing that your favorite band (or a member thereof) HATES your favorite song of theirs?

How do you feel knowing that Robert Plant has said he would "break out in hives" if he ever had to sing Stairway to Heaven again, that Slash hates Sweet Child O' Mine, the Beastie Boys hate Fight For Your Right to Party, among others?

that's a very common occurrence for few reasons but I don't really feel in any particular way about it

let's just say that... for many and plenty of my favorite songs by many artists and bands, I usually have one "to go to" version of such song... and it is usually one of their earlier concerts rather than "2020's" concert because... a lot of things have changed after the years and even decades

other times though... the newer versions and interpretations are much better for me to like

another thing that's also funny... when they speak about their favorite songs ever that they play... and then it feels like just a "random" choice for you and you're not that much into the song

I've seen that a lot actually. They hate their simple songs that even a musical retard can learn how to play. The songs get a lot of traction though because of how simple it is. Then the band finds them having to play that song over and over and yeah, they get sick of it. Metallica and that enter sandman song for instance. Maybe it's because I play guitar, but I seem to hate the same songs they hate of their own.

I only care about how I feel about my favorite song, not how they do. They don't have to listen to it with me and I'll enjoy it all the same

Makes sense. Just about anything becomes a JOB if you're FORCED to do it enough.

It always made me laugh that the Beastie Boys 2nd most popular song "fight for your right to party" was a song they wrote as a parody in 5 minutes to mock rock anthems and frat culture. They disluke the song. But their fans made it popular.😆
