What do you think is the best police series on TV, either channel or streaming?

I very much like blue lights.

I'm not usually a fan of police series, but this one is an exception - it is truly excellent.

What makes the show stand out is that it is less about flashy detective mysteries and more about:

street-level policing
moral ambiguity
trauma and stress
community distrust of police
the lingering effects of “The Troubles” in Northern Ireland
Many critics compare its realism and ensemble storytelling to shows like The Wire or Hill Street Blues, though it is more intimate and character-driven.

The show has been praised for:

authentic dialogue and atmosphere
emotionally believable characters
tense, realistic patrol situations
showing policing as exhausting and dangerous rather than glamorous - in other words - very realistic.
