What are the best British crime drama series on Netflix right now?

Does anyone know something similar to Dept Q or Broadchurch?

I enjoyed Downton Abbey but that's not really a crime drama.

There are many. Like you I prefer non USA series. They generally seem more intelligent with less gratuitous violence. A current one on Netflix is the series Legend... maybe check it out.

I just finished "Legends" on Netflix. It's only 6 episodes but very good. Based upon a true story, mostly in Liverpool.
