After all - the beauty of most stories, is ultimately, there has to be endings. Definitive endings. Surely?

After all - I could keep watching sequels and prequels until the end of time - yet sometimes does the never ending merry-go-round of 'some franchises/trilogies' eventually need a fitting ending.

Sometimes the audience craves what they didn't realise they wanted most - endings.

I completely agree, with movies in general. They can go on too long, with sequels when the story should've just concluded in the first or second movie. Other unrelated movies, like The Lord of the Rings, require sequels. Although I think the prequels were a bit unnecessary.

Toy Story 3 was a perfect emotional farewell, then Toy Story 4 reopened the door. Monsters University undercut the beautiful “what if?” of Monsters, Inc. Cars dragged on too long. Meanwhile, films like Coco, Ratatouille, and Inside Out feel complete and untouched.

So yes, not endings themselves, but resisting the temptation to undo them for more sequels. 🎬✨
