This is all about as persuasive as my brother's argument, which was 'if you watch Vikings you'll love GoT, because it has Vikings in it'... and then my sister-in-law said it was tantamount to watching porn

Okay let's try more seriously, GoT heavily borrows its more and culture from fantasy, more specifically heroic fantasy, so you need a taste for that to enjoy the show. Or the books.

Then GoT's strength would be in the characters, there's a lot of main ones to keep track of, they're varied and they get developed. Some develop in an unpredictable way, specifically women. Talking about that, it's also a show where women aren't flowers in a vase, as we say here, they are fairly represented as heroes, villains and the in-between.

A taste for political intrigues and manipulations is also a must I think, to appreciate the storyline.

I grew up on all kinds of shows, but that one never clicked. The laugh track, the pacing, the super 90s humor… it just felt dated and not in a charming way to me. I much prefer sharper ensemble comedies like “Fleabag” or “Succession,” where the jokes and emotions cut a bit deeper ❤️🎬
