Did your favorite band going mainstream kill some of the excitement?

You still love the band but now that they are mainstreamed big time , does it kind of kill the excitement you once had for them? because now the songs are overplayed and loved by posers that jumped on the band wagon? Even my friends’ that bashed Rush for years are now saying they enjoy them. I been a die hard Rush fan ever since I was 11 years old , and for a long time Rush was barely played or the radio when I was growing up. When I went to Rush concerts I would meet die hard fans like myself , that didn’t care what other people said or thought about them , my friends’ use to bust my balls for me being a big Rush fan for a lot of years and I didn’t care what they said , I would defend Rush every chance I got saying how talented they were and how awesome their music is. Now it’s like Rush all of a sudden became mainstreamed with poser fans that jumped on the band wagon , now that people realize how talented they are to the point some of Rush’s songs are now being overplayed on the radio like Tom Sawyer for one. I still love the song but it doesn’t give me the same excitement as it used to , because it is now overplayed. So do you have a band that got mainstreamed that kind of killed the excitement you once had for them? Which bands? I know there are a lot of them lol
