Have you watched "Last Man Standing" With Tim Allen?

I am streaming it on HULU. there are 8 seasons. The show is similar to Home Improvement but Tim Allen is let off the leash a little more. It first came out in 2011 and I do not ever remember seeing it.

Yes, and i luv’d it! It’s been so long since i have seen a show that actually portrays men positively!
It’s actually very different from “Home Improvement” because of that too. “Tim” was a moron who was always saying and doing stoopid sh*t. Every single project becomes an unmitigated disaster. All of the sage advice comes from the anonymous neighbor, Wilson. Tim’s wife is endlessly bailing him out and forgiving him for being a man, and she doesn’t f*ck up even once over the entire course of the series.
“Mike” is smart, confident, adequately sensitive to the needs of his own personal estrogen sea. He’s frequently portrayed as an annoying “know it all”, but just as frequently proven right! I defy anyone to point to ANY other show in the last half century in which a man was ever right against a field of women. Not only do they pull it off, they do it without belittling or demeaning the women! Go figure! All this time pop culture could have been empowering women WITHOUT belittling and demeaning men? Who would have thought?


That was reason enough to stay glued from beginning to end, but there was so much more! The meta references to Tim’s other works like “Home Improvement” and “Toy Story”. The deliberate jabs at casting changes and even network changes! The jokes are contemporarily relevant and sociopolitically balanced. The morals and values are fundamental and any reasonable person can relate. It’s pretty touching at times, without being saccharine or sappy.


I discovered “Last Man Standing” while “Shifting Gears” appears to be between seasons. I think you’ll like that too. If you haven’t already.

Yeah, unfortunately they don't keep all the cast together for the entire run. They switched networks, and Molly Ephraim didn't know when they left ABC i think it was that they were going to be picked up by another network so she left. And the woman that replaced her Molly McCook was like a foot taller and a blonde. Not exactly a subtle switch. They even make jokes about it at the starting of that season. Kyle's like "she' been acting different like w'vee never known eachother before". And the audience gets a good laugh because she is new to the show. Molly Ephraim played that character perfectly. She was the perfect blend of ditz, fashionista, and still loveable because beneath it all was a good heart. 👍

Yeah, I’ve watched it 😊 It definitely has that Home Improvement vibe, just updated for modern politics and social stuff. Tim Allen’s character is more openly conservative and sarcastic, which is why it feels like he’s “off the leash” more.

It gets better after the first season, and the cast changes are interesting to see. Fun, easy background show. 🎬📺
