What’s the best book you’ve ever read?

Nonfiction: almost certainly “Being Wrong” by Kathryn Schulz, it changed the way i perceive everything that i think i know. It should be mandatory reading in every skool.


Fiction: probably “Fight Club” by Chuck Palahniuk. It’s one of my favorite movies and it’s fairly respectful to the book. It’s a light, fun read and it adds some elements to the movie that just couldn’t have been portrayed on screen at the time.


Honorable mention: “Iron John” by Robert Bly. It’s kind of both fiction and nonfiction. The story of “Iron John” is an old fable, but the book is the author’s examination of the fable as an articulation of boys’ rites of passage into manhood.

It felt like walking through a dream with one foot still in reality. The way he blends loneliness, surreal moments, and everyday life was insanely visual, like a slow, perfect art film. I still picture specific scenes years later, as if I actually lived them instead of just reading them.

I love the way he writes. He's so descriptive without being descriptive! And, it was actually his real life story.

I had to read it for school and I never liked reading things school made me so I didn't like it the first time. When I read it a few years later it was the funniest book I ever read.
