I have nothing against her. She seemed like a lovely person.
I wasn't into her music. The only song I liked was 9-5. I prefer Whitney Houston's version of I Will Always Love You and I can't stand Jolene.
Poor Tim Curry, he seems to be left out.

People heard about Dolly Parton dying but don't know anything about her.
She wrote I Will Always Love You, that's why she's so famous for it. She only recorded it in the 1970s because she recorded all the songs she wrote before she sold them to other singers in country and pop music.
She also wrote The Stranger for Kenny Rogers, There'll Always Be Music for Tina Turner, Rainbowland for Miley Cyrus, Circle of Love for Jennifer Nettles, and many others that became hit songs for other singers.
She made over half a billion dollars in her career, and you don't get that kind of money from being a middling country singer, or even a top recording artist. That's more money than Whitney Houston ever made. You can only make that kind of money in music publishing, where you get paid every single time a song you wrote is played, whether it's Carrie Underwood or an amateur band in a local bar, and everything in between.
I’m largely just unaware of her music. She was just very charming, and she seemed like she was an extraordinarily good person, which is commendable on its own, but even more so when you have it all and could get away with being lesser than who she was.
You are not alone. I despise country music. It is all almost as obnoxious and devoid of talent as rap music... almost.
i knew who she was but i was more so unaware of her music as im still young. i like singers like olivia rodrigo and ariana grande for instance. but dolly parton did seem like a lovely person.
You're not the only one. I liked some of it. I respect that she was a legend, but her music was just not my cup of tea.
She had this way of vibrating her voice that I find annoying, but she seemed like a great person ( I don't say that lightly because I think the majority of celebrities are terrible people) and I acknowledge that she's a legend. RIP Dolly.
You can't help what you like and don't like.
There is no one that everyone likes
Same as you
Too soon.

You’re definitely not the only one 😄 Musical taste is super personal, even with legends like Dolly. I adore her as a personality and songwriter, but I also know plenty of people who only like “9 to 5” and prefer Whitney’s “I Will Always Love You.”
Not liking “Jolene” is almost rebellious at this point 😂 And poor Tim Curry really does get overshadowed a lot, he deserves more love 💔
