Let's give it a try...
Once upon a time there was a magical land far far away. There fairies spent their days inside the blossoms. Deep into the woods there was a quaint cottage and nearby a pond with beautiful water lillies flew and fireflies lit up the sky. It was the place of the white witch. She cast her magic only for good and all that stumbled on her path could not help but cherish her memory. One evening under the full moon a foreigner found himself stumbling along the crooked path that led to into the forest where the tallest of trees stood. He was lost and weak. A stick he held onto bore all his weight and tiredness. Allowing himself to be guided by the fireflies and the enchanting song of the fairies he eventually reached the cottage. He knocked on the door and waited pleading with his last breath to be heard. The white witch who never slept in the full moon season was busy making her potions but the knock and plea were hard to ignore. The door opened and the sight before her in the overglow of her small lantern tugged at her heart. There was something in the strangers eyes that told a story where words were not needed. The foreigner was mesmerised by the white witch that carried an aura that couldn't be explained. Reaching inside his pocket he pulled out one gold coin and begged for a bed for the night even if one gold coin was all he had. The white witch smiled and ushered him inside. A crackling fire with two armchairs made the small room and suddenly the foreigners heart filled with warmth. This encounter was nor by chance and the tale of the white witch and the foreigner was just beginning...
Did I miss any words?
There is a dried up pond. The land indentation is filled with keys. There is a dead tree next to the dried up pond because it depended on the pond for water. Now the bare branches are used to hang keys. There is a lantern on top of the tree looking like a morbid Christmas tree. Lots of sticks fall off of the dead tree. Which makes some keys fall to the ground as well…a tragedy. Some people take the keys from the dried up pond to smelt them into currency, a coin, perhaps. To fix the national debt, but it only makes it worse. Now we are left with less keys, a dead tree, no water and lots of national debt 😭😂🥹🫡🫶🗝️🔑

I guess I can try...
By the lake near the forest he saw her... or so he thought
greater than his dreams, larger than life... or so it seemed
only once, and never again... he kept going back but not in vain
after some rough months... the lake, now merely a pond
and the forest was no more... besides the one tree
left, a lantern... he saw the light, he saw a sign
hope itself, his only hope left... daydreaming, by day
night dreaming... by night, his only companion
never gone from his mind... he would stick to his only hope, barely
a single coin was flip... his fate was decided
heads or tails... heads
and there she was, again... such a beautiful sight... her beautiful gaze
@7Phoenix7 I was not expecting it either... lol
it just came to be
there are no more words, lol
@7Phoenix7 those sound go on...
continue the story, lol
The light from the lantern caught in her eyes…
for a moment, fear kept him frozen in place
was she really there this time… or was he dreaming again?
he didn’t dare move, afraid she’d disappear the moment he did
then, softly… she began humming a song
a song he somehow remembered, though he couldn’t remember from where
he took one step toward her… then another
their eyes met
and the coin slipped from his hand into the pond
this time… he didn’t need fate to decide
now you have to continue it
"Stick the lantern up the tree by the pond for a coin."
"A coin to stick the lantern by the pond?"
"Yes, stick the lantern high above the pond on the tree."
He took the coin and did stick that lantern up the tree by the pond.
I walked to the pond with a stick and a lantern, hoping to find my lost coin.
Instead, I found a frog sitting under a tree staring at me like I owed him money. 😂🐸
I went home. The frog can keep the coin.
While walking down the street, I spotted a shiny coin, a stick, and a lantern beside the pond behind the oak tree.
Should I stick the coin in the tree, the lantern, or throw it in the pond?
You can probably figure out that I like short stories. 😏
I can try if I’m compensated

The pond was still, reflecting the treetops and a single paper lantern drifting on its surface 🌙
A boy stood at the edge, gripping a stick and a small coin. Legend said if you pushed a lantern with a coin inside to the center of the pond, your wish came true.
He placed the coin inside, gently nudged it with the stick, and whispered, “Let tomorrow be kinder.”
