Nowadays, some movie titles, series, just don't have that same appeal, creativity, especially before the COVID era. Films don't have the same momentum.

Studios play it safe now: endless sequels, remakes, shared universes, algorithms deciding “what sells.” Mid-budget, original films moved to streaming, so the big screen feels like superheroes and IP recycling.

But creativity isn’t gone, it just shifted. Indie films, A24 stuff, Korean cinema, limited series on Netflix/HBO, and festival darlings still feel fresh. You just have to dig a bit deeper now to find that spark ✨

There is definitely some repetition, but there are still some really good movies and shows out there. I also think it depends on the year, some years have a lot of great movies, while other years feel pretty underwhelming…but I agree that movies and shows from before COVID had a different feel and seemed to have more momentum…

Even with actors, sometimes I feel like they’re bringing in very similar-looking faces, so it can make everything feel a little repetitive…

I just noticed it but it's understandable.

Didn't really expect after Covid for these to change but they have somehow.

With movies titles like,
Space Jam 1996, Austin Powers, Rocky, Charlie's Angels 2000, The Notebook, Mean Girls, Ghost Rider 2007.
Were sample of decent movies at least.

There were decent series too like 90210, The Simpsons, Gossip Girl, The Originals.

Now I don't know what happened.

To some extent it's a factor of age / exposure. How many rom coms, Jason Statham action films, war movies, westerns, vampire movies, thrillers, zombies, sci-fi alien invasions, or biographies can you watch. Been there / done that kicks in eventually. And truly unique well written stories with a good cast and direction become more rare and harder to find.

A lot of People nowadays don't want to watch movies about love, and that's what a lot of romance movies were about.

Now it's more blood and guts and violence and I am not watching that stuff.

It is rare I can make it through an entire movie these days.

Everything feels like it’s been done before. And they keep trying to do reboots of old movies, that end up being worse. Like leave them alone.

once talent went to tv it never went back to cinema. I think people prefer working there as its more reliable. TV you have work on a series for 10 years. Movies you can do well in one and fail at the next even if its a good movie.
