What is more important to your appreciation of music, lyrics or melody?

I’m pretty sure it’s lyrics for me, but i did develop a strong appreciation for classical instrumental melodies. I luv listening to Tchaikovsky while watching birds. If that dude’s art wasn’t inspired by birds, i have no idea what was going on inside his mind.
So lyrics for me, by the smallest of margins. What is more important to you, lyrics or melody?

Depends what music. If it's dance music is the rhythm more important than lyrics.

Melody is essential, lyrics are optional. Lyrics do help to remember the melody.
