Should Guy Fawkes night end?

Tonight is Guy Fawkes night in the UK, also known as Bonfire night. We celebrate a failed attempt to blow up parliament and kill the king centuries ago by letting off fireworks and lighting Bonfires upon which we burn effigies.

Every year there's trouble, property is damaged, people are hurt, thugs run riot. And every year there's calls to end the celebration.

Other people say it's fun. There's organised displays, people have garden parties, and it's not right to end a tradition because of a few idiots.

Personally I say end it. It seems to be merging with Halloween anyway. The UK has seen many terrorist attacks in the past decades so why we still celebrating one being stopped in 1605? If you want a bonfire have it at Halloween where it belongs.
