I don't know the movie specifically but I know the story and it it is suitable for his crimes at the time it takes place
While I am not in favor of capital punishment it was a different time
I found it curious that the film adopted a distinctly sympathetic view of Fagin.. That is until I realized it was directed by Roman Polanski; another (((individual))) with a penchant for exploiting vulnerable white children. It all makes sense now.
