Why would my friend watch me sleep?

After hanging out with a group of friends, all of us drinking a bit, we went back to one friend's house to wind down and get some sleep. Another one of my friends lives with the guy whose house I slept at. I laid down in the living room on the futon, and I was alone when I fell asleep. I woke up several times that night, each time by pets, and one of the dogs ended up sleeping next to me. So I didn't think anything when I felt something heavy settle by my feet. In the morning, I woke up and tried to get comfortable, but I couldn't move my legs much, so I looked back and saw my friend sitting at the end of the futon. I freaked out a little, like I sort of yelled, "Oh ****!", and he got up really quickly and disappeared down the hall to his bedroom.

I'm really confused, and just wondering why a guy would watch a girl sleep.

There could be other reasons but I have and always will do that to 2 people. One my daughter & other is the woman I love :)

With both of them I'd love to watch them sleep peacefully & ofcourse keep giving them butterfly kisses all over their face etc I can
