What's wrong with avoiding people who don't like you?

There's nothing wrong with avoiding people who don't like you. It's just that they don't like you and when they know you are ignoring them for that reason they use it as an excuse to get mad at you even further.
I have a pretty good example, one of my friends (ex friend) stopped liking me when i told him i was trans because it's against his beliefs or something. So i just avoided him and he goes around insulting me saying stuff like "i hate that fucking tranny, constantly ignoring me like they think they are better than me". It's just them trying to justify a reason to dislike you.
I find avoiding diffuses the situation. It pisses them off but people I've dealt with deal with it and move on. Sometimes they talk to me in a fairly friendly manner nowadays, whereas a few months ago, they were outright insulting me in public for no reason. Although college is very much like high school, that's where the difference comes in - people move on, they don't hold on to hate so that's one thing I like about college hah!
Well, I don't avoid people that don't like me. I don't have a problem with myself, they have the problem with me. If they don't like me they can avoid me all they want. But I'm not going to make their lives easier by avoiding them.
cause they feel like suckers that they aren't the ones that got to do the avoiding first haha
Because lots of people like to be confrontational, it makes them feel superior.

Nothing wrong at all. If they don't like you, then why would you give them attention?
They get angry because they want your attention to make it clear that they don't like you. People hate being despised.
I have no idea but its true their ego like goes down its kinda funny is you ask me though.
