Yes she wants you to see her in a different light. She seems to also wants you to experience the type of things she goes through or what she does in life so you can understand her better. If she wanted a workout partner i'm sure she would be upfront. Also asking you to go to the gym with her, she would also wants to see what you're like, like are you able to cope with the things she does. Don't get too nervous about that, she just wants to see what you're like in the gym.
