At first I believed that she was truly looking for help. Then as the months passed I realized that she was just in search of attention. The reason I say this is because the ONLY time she cuts is when she is in a financial crunch or not getting attention (she will email the family pictures of her cuts and say things like "I can't handle not having money" and they will send her money every single time). She has even started cutting when her husband starts picking up a lot of work hours. She has sent him photos of her cut up wrist so that he will come home and hang out with her. She's done the same thing to me multiple times. The last time she cut (as far as I know) was when her husband refused to buy her a third vehicle. She cut herself and he felt so guilty that he took $59,000 out of their savings to buy her a brand new vehicle that she decided a month down the road wasn't good enough anymore. Her ignorant attention seeking ways are starting to put a massive damper on our friendship. I don't even want to look at her anymore, let alone be anywhere around her. She even uses the cuts on her wrist as a reason to pawn her daughter off on everyone whenever she possibly can. I have had her daughter for two weeks straight as of today and whenever I ask her when she is going to come get her she will say things like "I am not in a good enough state to take her back right now". She has done this before and the only reason she came and picked her daughter up was because my boyfriends mother threatened to take custody of her daughter if she kept it up. The pictures I am about to post will be hard to view by some people. But I just want to show you how deep her cuts are (they are only deep enough to let a bead of blood come up. She sends these pictures to me almost once a week.
Do I bring this up to her or do I let her continue her attention seeking ways?

She needs to see a therapist. ANY time someone is hurting themselves, it's indicative of a bigger issue. What she is doing is manipulative and NOT okay. But the fact that she feels the need to do it so often raises some questions. Talk to her or her husband about it, and then cut yourself out of her life (or at least limit your involvement/contact)
