He texts me late at night?

Im 21, he's 27. I'm a college student. He's a professor.
We met last year and were friends for 4 months, and then he tried to woo me for weeks. I rejected him, but we remained friends. We continued to text each other as friends, until last week he told me he already got a girlfriend (I didn't ask, he just told me out of blue). He said it like its news. I told him I'm happy for them and wished them all the best. But what bothers me is that ever since he told me that, he texts me only late at night (like midnight ffs). They weren't sexual though. Just friendly texts (how was ur day, what r u doing, go to sleep already, etc.). Maybe he's just really being friendly, but why text at that time?

Please state your opinions about this, guys and gals. I'm just confused. Am I overthinking?

He might be hiding it from his girlfriend, so it's easier to text you late at night without getting "caught" (even if he technically isn't doing anything wrong since he's not sending anything suggestive or sexual). You could always just confront him about it and ask why he's texting you so late. If he gives some lame or vague excuse that doesn't make a lot of sense ("I'm bored", "oh I didn't even notice the time" etc), it's probably because he's worried about what his girlfriend would think.

Because he's probably with his girlfriend during the day and she either doesn't like it when he's texting people while they're together or he feels like it's disrespectful to text a female he was previously interested in while with his girl.

If you feel bothered by am texting using stop on that same token know I would hate to break off of a friendship. Just because I got a girlfriend or a wife. So, in that respect I really think your over thinking it on that same token if you end up having feelings for him, are something like that chances are in this situation you missed out man don't wait around forever. There's billions of girls out there.
