Why is my dad such a bastard?

Just had a heated argument with him over where his laptop is - which I havew no idea.

He barged into my room claiming it was in here, but it's not, I've checked over a couple of times. 5 minutes later he comes back in (without knocking or anything) claiming he's sure it's in here.

I just lost the plot. I told him to **** off out my room. He and pretty much all my family always walk into my room. I can't get a lock because they don't want me to.

He lurched forward. I knew he was going to hit me, so I automatically pushed him back and kept him at arms length.

I can't stand this **** anymore... it's happened so often here.

His house, his rules maybe if you weren't a spoiled kid and you were raised correctly you would learn not to cuss at your parents that's how you get your ass whooped but I guess some were raised better than others

He beat me to a pulp when I was 12. He kicked me several times in the stomach for something I didn't do and punched my brother up too.

He was an alcoholic and had serious anger issues. He doesn't drink anymore but he's still aggressive.

Sure it might be his house but everyone here deserves their own space.

The limits are physical abuse, in which case you can take certain actions.

Aside from that, his house, his rules. You don't have any authority there.

I have the RIGHT to my own space - everyone does. It's a lack of respect.

He used to beat me up frequently as a child. I got kicked several times in the stomach by him for no reason - my sister had made a mess and I was blamed.

I was too young at the time to realise the seriousness and probably too afraid.

He has always denied he has hit me... my mum denies it too, which is crazy.

Like I said, you don't have any authority in your parents house, so it doesn't really matter if you complain about your "rights". I'm sure that's also how for parents see the situation. Are you older than 18? In any case, as you get older, your parents will naturally give you more privacy.

Maybe you can have a talk with one or both f your parents and calmly explain to her why you're upset. From a realistic point of view, if your parents don't want to listen to you and you can't move out for whatever reason, you don't have a choice but to endure the situation until you can move out and become more independent.

I've got a year left of contract of this flat I'm sharing with two friends at Uni... but I'm not there until September.

Other than that, there's nowhere I can go - nowhere I can feel comfortable and safe.
