Is my Boss mad at me?

When I am new at work , I am really like a turtle finishing my tasks. I always go home late working 12-15 hours everyday straight. However, after 3 months I have learned to adjust and become very fast at my job. There are times that I don't need to overtime.

There our team lead / boss works always late or overtime. I don't think that you are hardworking if you always overtime. You are already inefficient! And, so I really try my best to finish all my tasks on time.

There are times that I can feel that my boss don't want me to go home early. Maybe, she wants me to work late too. Until such time that I continuously do it and I only had two overtimes.

A while ago, when I stand up at my cubicle. She ask me in a rude and loud voice. "Are you already done? are you already going home? And I replied yes mam, i will only continue finishing the insurance and I am done. And she said, Eeeh! Let see Tomorrow!.. ( mad voice & look) .

I go home early because it is a non working holiday but she demanded us to work. Plus, I only have few to finish and I can do it tomorrow.. I really find her voice offensive , especially that it is in front of my officemates. I calmed down and continued walking out even if she embarrassed me. . I love myself and I don't want to torture my body because of a lot of overtimes.

Actually, I really feel mad because she seems overcontrolling my life... she always want me to work late more than 12 hours a day!. Can somebody help me how should I react tomorrow in the office and in the next days to come?

You need to work on your appearance I think.

If my new staff stood up at 5pm and announced they were going home and left, I'd be furious. What you need to do is around 3pm or so, be like "ok here's whats on my plate, this is what I've gotten done, what are my realistic goals for the rest of the day? what else can I do for you?"

You could still leave at the same time, but you're checking in and
1) making sure you're meeting expectations, workload wise
2) making sure everyone else knows you're meeting expectations as well

How do you let everyone know that you are meeting the expectations?

If
1.) You work late because of a boss who demanded you
2.) everyone would think u are inefficient because u go always go home late?

Unfortunately that is the case in a lot of places. You tend to find out you end up working mostly to appease the boss and not as much for the work. You could try and find another place but if the work is easy and we'll paid try to learn your boss and manipulate her into thinking you're doing the best job ever while you're doing things like you want to.

I wish I had constructive input. At my job we get written up if we have overtime that wasn't approved by management. So we just leave at our scheduled time, whether or not we're done with everything. Cuz they wanna be penny pinching dicks. lol

Know about your minimum working hours and work up to the end of time. Say that you are not interested in overtime. If work remains incomplete due to end of minimum hours , then assure to complete the work tomorrow. Work honestly and give quality time and efforts on work hours. That will be enough.

Work as per rules. And if they are not satisfied , see if you can complain to higher authorities If they don't agree it is better to quit the job and try to find work elsewhere. Good workers are in high demand. Make work satisfaction your first criteria. When you spend so much time at work , happiness at work is equally important. And if that happiness is not found there , then it will be a time to quit.

you should maybe look for a different job. here in the uk the law protects workers in their jobs but i suspect you may not have the same basic rights where you are

Stand up for yourself, and don't let her force you to overwork yourself. Ignore her tone of voice.

have a look at your contract about the working hours. she shouldn't be able to make you work more than that. so tell her to go for a coffee and chill out for a while.
