Bummed, but not unexpected or devastated. People are hurt by rejection because they begin asking the why's and lose their confidence and self esteem. Ohhh is acknowledging that you didn't hurt him too much, but he's hurt a little.

You have a self esteem issue you need to address. You're putting him on a pedestal. What makes you any different than a "popular girl" other than your social status which means literally nothing in the scope of life? If you dont try, you won't fail, but you'll as experience regret and angst which is even worse. Failure allows for creativity and sucess to manifest and creates new ideas and concepts that lead to innovation and progression. Dont be crippled by a shallow social hierarchy. Reach for the stars and know that if you try and work hard, you can do incredible things, things that maybe no one else can do. Believe in yourself and know you are beautiful and there is not a single person in the world just like you. 😊

No you're not stupid! You told him how you felt and that's what matters, if you genuinely aren't interested in dating him, then it's good you told him exactly how you felt.
