I find these answers all very interesting. The biggest issue I have had dating is that me being a dedicated father is consistently getting in the way of maintaining a relationship with a woman.
Women don't like to be told that they will never be the most important thing in your life... and to me anyone who doesn't think that way is a deadbeat parent. Women also tend to hate only being able to see me Monday night's, Sunday night's, and sometimes on the weekends. That said, some Dads aren't involved because they've fought hard for years and lost, maybe lost the money or the will to fight. The deck is stacked against the ones playing by the rules.

Deadbeat Dads aren't worth the air they breath, but if you suspect a guy might be one, get his side of the story. I almost gave up on fighting for custody of my daughter because fighting on several fronts for years was costing me everything. My money, my house, my job, and to some extent my mind. I was afraid that this war with her mother might end up doing more damage than walking away and giving up... If my only complaint about her mother was that she was a bitch to me but otherwise did a great job I might have. I wouldn't blame any man for walking away after going through what I want through. Some women make being a father impossible, and no man should be forced to pay that kind of person as an incentive for her to keep their child from him.

There Are Many Reasons Why A Parent Doesn't Pay Child Support, Either They Cannot Afford It, The Custodial Parent Moved Out of State Without Non Custodial Parents Permission Which Makes Non Custodial Parent Unable To See Kids, I Think Those Are Somewhat Valid Reasons... Then, There Are Those Who Pay Child Support But Custodial Parent Always Refuses To Allow Non Custodial Parent To See Kids, Why Pay? Then Of Course Those Who Flat Out Refuse To Pay No Matter What, Which Is Wrong... Not Dating Someone Due To Reasons That Does Not Concern You Or Affect Your Life Should Be No Reason Not To Date Someone... I Have Always Had Sole Custody Of My Kids, It Took A Court Order And Wage Garnishing To Get Paid, But She Never Acknowledged The Kids, Birthdays, Christmas ETC It Never Seemed To Bother Guys She Dated Or The Guy She Eventually Married, And Had 3 More Kids With Him...
I Guess Bottom Line Is It Is Up To Each Individual Whether They Will Date Someone Who Refuses To Pay And Or Acknowledge Their Kids...

Deal Breaker. I don't care what the other parent did, your kid is your kid and they had no choice about being born in this world, and as the father/mother of the child, it's your obligation to take care of your own. Plus, what woman wants some dude who won't care for his kids... that makes you think, well what happens if you get pregnant---even if he says he'll take care of them---that track record may prove otherwise. Hell no.

Definitely not, it's one thing if someone is short of money and gets behind by a month on child support - but if they don't pay it at all, they're a bad parent and probably would be a bad romantic partner as well.

I have kids with 3 women, if I could choose not to pay a particular one of them child support, I would. I don't blame certain men for refusing to pay certain women. I'd rather buy my kids more Christmas presents than fund her 4th vacation of the year without my daughter to get high in Colorado. I don't mind paying the other two as much because they're decent parents (even though they tend to spend the money much differently than I would).

I don't disagree with your statement as a whole... I just get annoyed that child support is tied so closely to whether or not a man is a decent father.

@TheLastCastle Aw sorry, well unfortunately the law is kind of against the guy a lot of times, if the mother wastes the money it's not your fault. But you're paying it anyway so my comments don't apply to good guys like you :)

would i date a deadbeat? no.

do i define that as someone who doesn't support a child, no. circumstances could make that a reasonable decision, such as the guy wanting termination and the girl deciding to keep the kid.

Dating is a precursor to a long term relationship. If this person abandoned one relationship, what makes you think that your relationship with them would be different?

Dating and finding a life long partner are two different things. Life long partner no. Dating or casual dating maybe. If she was good looking then yes. But would only use her for sex. If she can't support a child she had then I have no respect for her.

How lovely can they actually be if they aren't supporting their child? Unless they're flat broke. I'd expect a woman to have the child with her.

I'd give up custody of a kid as well if I accidentally got someone pregnant and they refused to abort the damn thing.

    So sure.

Fuck no either care for your child or fuck off because if you have a child and don’t support it your forcing a kid to live a terrible life

Sometimes our kids turn on us and we just have to let them slide to the back. I'm a good man with a kind and caring heart and I was the black sheep in my parents house growing up..
