Why does my brother always call me ugly and says other mean things?

I have always been a nice person to my brother like lend him money etc. but he treats me as if he were the school bully. He says really mean things that make me really insecure about myself. People say I’m beautiful when they see me but he says I’m ugly and that totally brings me down. I try to get my mom to say something but she just tells him to be quiet and that really doesn’t help me. I have also tried to ignore it but that does always quite work out. It gets me in a place where I just think of how I can look more beautiful and not myself which I don’t really enjoy doing. I should just be myself but I can’t because his awful words bring me down. Also sucks that he is the oldest but can’t act his age.

Ok, I have a younger sister and I always used to tease her until my mother told me that she didn't like that at all. I had truly no idea. You may say: 'but I told him a thousand times' and you're right. My sister said the same thing. Now I'm not saying that what he is doing is right, but it's something to think about. My older brother used to do the same thing and when we really had a good talk about it, I realized that he too had no idea that what he was doing wasn't nice. I don't know how to fix this other then getting someone to talk to him who can really get through to him.
