Do you think gender reveal parties are fun or pointless?

I mean clearly after 9 months of baking, everyone is going to know if you had a boy or a girl anyway, but these parties are about celebrating the couples joy and finding out what they are going to have and for some it establishes what types of gifts you should later shower them with at the baby shower.

I've never griped about these because of the ones I've gone to, the food was really good, so there's that.

I feel like they are over the top and unnecessary. My parents waited to find out what I was when I was born. She said she liked it best that way.

To be honest I am surprised they have taken off these days when everyone is so obsessed with mis-gendering.

Pretty pointless, honestly. We all know it's gonna be either one gender or the other, and there is nothing special/celebratory about it.

Also from a Letfist standpoint, who are you to decide the kid's gender? What if it's a trans child? What if they go by they/them pronouns and identify as non-binary? What if they are genderqueer? Don't be a bigoted parent, be open-minded to your child any gender regardless of biological sex. 😉

I think so yes. People will have a baby shower and a gender reveal I think it’s too extra. Ofc it will be revealed once it slides onto earth, no need to make an announcement for something people are going to figure out regardless.
