What age did you breastfeed up to?

Is it good to breastfeed children up to age four or five?

I breastfed my daughter until she was 14 months. That would have gone on longer, but my milk dried up due to my second pregnancy.

I breastfed my son until he was 3 years and 1 month old. I decided to wean him for his 3rd birthday thinking it would take longer, but it was a very quick process. My milk dried up within a month and would not come back when we cut back on feedings.

I highly recommend going until at least 3 years. Around the 3 year mark it's more for comfort, bonding, and extra nutrition than it is necessary for just eating.

Just kidding. I think I stopped being breast fed at the age of three. That is I was still being breast fed at the age of three but begun being introduced to cow milk at y age of three to replace breast milk slowly by slowly.

I was also introduced to solid food at four months. Obviously very soft solid food.

At the age of four or five I was more feeling like having french fries or a hearty slice of bread.
Breast feeding at this age looks to me more like motherly egocentrism or cultural disorientation.
Mom de-milked me when I grew my first teeth.

Since I can't remember any of it, I assume it was before I was 2 or 3. I think a good time to wean a Child is to the point where they can start forming words, or have new abilities.

In my family the kids start talking well before 18 months. That seems a little early to stop breastfeeding to me.

Apparently, I didn't like to be breastfed, so I stopped when I was 4 months old.
My brother stopped when he was 14 months old.

Why creepy? Breasts are meant for feeding baby milk. A child will always be baby for the mother so what is wrong with feeding baby until the fourth birthday?

you can disagree with me all you like, but the moment the child eats solid food consistently breast feeding should stop. Its creepy because she is treating the child who is a child not a baby, like a baby still. Not allowing him to grow up. There is not psychological benefit to breast feeding that long.

Well, all of the doctors, scientists and experts around the world came together to have the World Health Organization recommend breastfeeding until at least 2 years of age. Lactation Consultants are far less educated than doctors. 6 months is only for exclusively breastfeeding. They still need breast milk long after they are eating solids.
