Do you think it's rude to keep someone waiting?

I was talking to this person and they seemed like they wanted to talk, and when I said okay they stopped responding.

Now I'm not one of those crazy people who will freak out if that happens, but I do think it's rude. As though you're not concerned about if the other person feels bad or something.

I do think it's rude. And maybe I am one of those crazy people who you mentioned but, I feel that if you really truly like someone and they like you, then you should be able to talk all the time. But I am keenly aware that life stuff comes up and people might not be able to say they are busy at the right time.

I think they are doing it on purpose. I saw they’re online and could have easily apologized if something came up

The thing is I asked if they wanted to talk they said sure let me know when.

I reached out not long after, responded to their question and then said now works for me if it does for you also.

Almost 2 hours no response and I saw they were briefly online which meant they saw my message.

Ok... to be fair... I am at work at times and see someone's messages to me and I read them. But I had just enough time to read it and not enough to reply. Or maybe I need to time to create my well thought out reply to them if it's something meaningful to me or them.

Having said that... if there is a pattern of them doing this then I just ignore them from that point on. Cause it seems they are not THAT interested in talking to me. And that is their fucking loss because I (and you) are a great fucking person to talk to.

But it’s not work hours and if they can’t chat why could they just say so making me wait is way more disrespectful.

I think they might have thought I am too excited about chatting and so just didn’t respond.

I think maybe he thought I’m too excited to talk to him so he’s trying to ‘show me’ he doesn’t care.

I don't think he is mature enough to understand what he is doing to you or other people. And if he IS doing it to show he doesn't care than that is just ridiculous and pointless.

Stop talking to him until he grows up.
