I know what you are going through Paris. I had the same problem with my brother when my dad died. He started drinking heavily again. He threatened to sue me for his part of the inheritance. I cut all ties with him after I gave him his share. I didn't need his b. s. in my life.

Cutting a family member from your life is very difficult, even when they are slowing you down but sometimes we have to do for the sake of our sanity. Be patient and talk to them, explain your experience and how things are effecting you and explain also how important is it to not overreact, instead try to find solutions together. If that does not work! Take some distance and try to read about psychology on how to reach a family member and make them understand in different ways. I can't sent links about that because i read in swedish language. Good luck

You know, I understand how difficult it might be because she's family. It's hard enough with people who aren't.
So there's no right or wrong. You must detach yourself emotionally from her asap. Easier said than done but needs to be done. And completely cutting off is the best course of action but can you?

Does this have anything to do with your father's passing?

If so, I would try to give her some grace in this instance. Losing a family member is hard on everyone. I'm sure there are some things that she had done and said that she wouldn't have if she wasn't under so much stress.

I think this is a pivotal moment in the life of your family. I think you need to stick together rather than break apart.

I'd say be patient unless she's seriously ruining your life. Or ignore her if she doesn't disturb you constantly, but if she's constantly making you miserable you should think about your own mental sanity and do what you have to do.
