i have a relationship with this girl longer then a year now.

we had some troubles but everything is fine now.

but my parents say I deserve better and shouldn't be with her.

my mother doesn't likes her.

the want me to meet other girls, but I really don't want that.

what should I do! if I stay with my girlfriend, what I really want, I get a lot off stress and will stand between 2 factions. I also can't choose a side because I really love her but I always lived by the rules that family comes first.

You're 18 or over. Who cares what your parents say. Yes they want what's best for you...but do they KNOW what's best for you?

At the same time, you're young and YOU probably don't know what's best for you either.

Is this girl worth you time? Not only that but remember, it's not like your getting married to her or anything, it's JUST a relationship. So don't worry. Let your parents tell you what they want but you don't HAVE to take their advice. Tell them that it's nothing serious with this girl and they will most likely back off.

it is serieus, but I am half Asian and to us family is everything. next to the fact that I can't put my girlfriend and mother in one room. so I just wanted to hear what other people would say. I already dicided I wouldn't leave her but this situation just makes being happy together a lot more difficult

Ahhh, I see now. You're Asian (and no everyone I'm NOT being racist...just stereotypical) So you're family has some traditions that they are really strict about? You are just going to have to wait for you're mother to accept this girl. She will eventually, just in her own time. Especially when she realizes that this girl is going to be in your life, and if she wants to stay in your life she will have to accept your girlfriend...not saying that your mother won't stay if your life, its just a fear

Tell your parents that you know they love you and that all they want is for you to be happy. This woman makes you happy, and that's all there is to it. Tell your parents that there is room for both of them and this woman in your heart and that this is causing you a lot of stress because all you want is for them to get along with your girlfriend.

You shouldn't have to choose and if you tell your parents that them trying to make you choose is making you unhappy. At the end of the day, this is YOUR life. Your family is a large part of your life, but the decisions should be yours.

try telling your parents that. that you love her but you don't want to strain your relationship with them. you could say you realize you had your differences but she wasn't the only one at fault and that seeing other girls is not something you want. you're torn and that's obvious, you shouldn't need to be so just try talking things over with your rents.

you shouldn't have to choose. you love them both, you should talk to them both (at separate times, of course). Explain to your intermediate family why you love this girl and why she means so much to you, and tell them it would be appreciated if they would back off a bit and stay out of your love life. Your a big boy, you're old enough to decide who you want a relationship with. If she's like, abusive, dump her sorry a** and listen to your folks. But since I doubt that, go with your heart.

that some mothers have...also you need to find out if it's this girl or ANY girl that your parents think is not good enough for you. Parents tend to think the world of their children and have them so high up on the todumpole that NO ONE can ever be good enough for their child.

Been there Done that!

Family always comes first but this has nothing to do with your family.

Tell your family that you don't mind to meet others (But believe me they have something plan. So don't go.). Anything you can do, you would do for them regardless.

However, about your love life you need to make this decision by yourself with all their love and support would be greatly appreciated and make the best of happiness with your life.

If you know for sure this is what you really want and she's the one for you, you have to stand up for your believe and your love.

Make your own decision. After all, it's just you .. the only one. I know that it's lots of pressure.

But you have to be rigid and stay strong. Ignore the whining, crying, complaining. Anything could happen but just make sure it's from you and because of all others.

At this moment try to comfort your girlfriend. She might be a lot more fragile and vulnerable than she usually is.
