Wow...you should be grateful she likes you that much. I mean unless it's becoming an actual issue, like she texts you NON-STOP every day and is so overly friendly that it's legitimately creeping you out or something, just be appreciative that she likes you so much. You have it a lot better than some girls. Not that my relationship with my boyfriend's mom is horrible, but we've been together for two years and the most we ever say to each other is "hi how are you?"; I'd love to have an actual relationship with the mother of the man I plan on one day marrying...

My boyfriend's mom doesn't annoy me but she sure scares the crap out of me. We've been together a year and I see her almost every weekend and she still scares me.

If you be polite to her, maybe you'll find her less annoying. I know that after about six months of me being excessively polite, she has started to warm up to me. Now she even greets me when I go to her house :p

Sit down and get to know her. Maybe then she won't be as annoying?

Depends on what she does to annoy you. If it's something unintentional or minor, she might stop it if you talk to her in a non-threatening way.

Why is it important to like her? I understand needing to have a reasonably functional relationship with a potential mother in law, but liking might be asking too much. If both of you can tolerate each other and be courteous and polite, that should be enough for him.

According to studies, relationships do better when the male get's along with the female's parents better than she gets along with his (because there is assumed to be a certain level of meddling in the mother-in-law/daughter-in-law relationship)

It's far more important, according to this, that your parents like him.

Does she like you? You should find out what exactly it is that's so annoying about her and then determine if it's something you could either get used to or work through. How serious is your relationship with your boyfriend?

She likes me too much and me and my boyfriends relationship is very serious. She's annoying because she texts me so often and calls me and in person she talks to. Me so much, it's like she try's too hard. And she buys me things a lot.
