Am I wrong for asking a friend to not wear revealing clothes around my husband and children?

I asked my friend to wear more layers when visiting my home with my husband and two young daughters. She seemed taken aback but apologized and hung up. When she got home, she cried to her husband about it and then he texted me, saying he was not happy with what was said and that I needed to have additional dialog with. Am I wrong and is he wrong for trying to check me? Also, my husband was not pleased with how she came over to our home.

Hi all! Thanks so much for weighing in on my situation. Your feedback was greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I may have to let that friendship go and I am surprising ok with that. A few of our shared friends called me to let me know that the person in question and her husband called them to talk poorly about me and pretty much changed ever word I said to her so that it would sound malicious. Thankfully, our shared friends know who I am and that it is never my intent to hurt someone.

There isn't really a proper way to judge this when it's based solely on your opinion of what is decent, and what is not.

There's at least two (or four) different opinions here. Someone may be being unreasonable.

Thank you. I would love to sit down and talk it out after I cool off. I think I am just baffled that a 50 something grown woman would respond by crying. I am 38 and would never go to her home with her husband dressed in little to nothing. Just a sign of respect.
