From next Tuesday I will go to a new school. I'll be in 11th grade there, but I'm very scared of it. I've always been very shy when it came to meeting new people and now I'm going to a new school where I don't know anyone and all my friends are not at this school with me. I'm afraid that I won't find friends.. I don't know how to behave.
Absolutely. When in a new situation where there is an unknown element, don't commit yourself to anything or anyone. Don't stand out. Just watch everything and assess who might be ally or enemy based on what you see. I personally would spend a few days quietly watching. Of course if someone came up and spoke to me I would be friendly but still be reserved as in not giving away too much on the first week.
First impressions are everything in a new school environment, but they aren't difficult to make if you do what I suggest. It is the people who go in trying to make themselves known by everyone that ends up being made fun of and shunned.
i dont know we just were in the same class since 5th grade and always had our friend group and we are still friends and meet each other but every one goes different ways and i dont know if i can do that without them they are my family and now i feel like im alone and i know i must do this without them but its hella scary🙈
I used to be extremely shy, as a kid... but most of my freak out was internal, within me... I did not actually freak out altogether, I was just very calm and quiet, sort of trying to become invisible, although there few things that would make me noticeable.
So, other kids still approached me sometimes, I got along with my classmates, I made friends... and I had closer friends as well.
Maybe you just have to go through it again, it might feel scary right now but you'll have to do it anyway, right? you have to go to classes... so just be as calm and relaxed as you possibly can and let things flow, maybe others will approach you first and then you can interact and engage with them that way. Maybe you'll notice others are as shy as you are... and you can get close with them.
If you have done it once already... you surely can do it again... gotta be a bit more positive, and give it some time, it might get easier on the day by day.
Congrats on the new school. Eleventh Grade is an unusual time to change schools - in the US we usually cluster grade 9-12 or 10-12. So I'm guessing you are going through other life changes. If you can, I would get a map of the school campus and figure out where buildings are. Make sure you know how to get to the school - don't want to get lost on your first day. If you can, walk on the campus to get comfortable. If you know your schedule, know where each of your classrooms are.
Search Youtube, there are several videos of women giving tips on being new at school. Eleventh grade is a somewhat awkward time to change schools.
Normal tips: bring pencils, pens, and paper. Travel as light as possible. Know whatever your schools procedures are for safety - a school here required transparent backpacks to prevent hiding weapons. With people, just be friendly and say, "Hi." You will make friends in time. Good luck!
Body language follows mindset. Give your best smile to everyone. Walk tall keep good posture. Make and use somewhat believable two positive affirmations for at leastst first 30 days. Wish I can observe you and give you demo of confident body language. Keep open body language. Approach people using 1 2 3 rule. Observe them, compliment them about smallest most unique detail or simplest thing but most genuine.
You just have to tell yourself that you will get new friends trust me it will happen you are used to having a group of friends before you know it in your new school it will happen for you never give any negative thinking and think positive
