Why do my parents ridicule me?

I am 31, so no longer a child but when I share my problems & concerns with my mom she starts ridiculing me instead of understanding. Emotional abuse?

I think it's horrible for parents to ridicule their adult child I know when growing up my father would be in a bad mood and he would take his mood out on me and my sister and he verbally abused us and my mother (late), so in 1994 they got a No-Fault Divorce
what hurts is he promised to be my third cousin's step-dad but that all went down the drain I'm sorry this is happening to you... I think parents who ridicule their siblings has some major issues going on

That's not at all normal, and you should stand up and tell your mom your feelings. After all, you are long since an adult.
