Why can't some people maintained their homes clean , Especially when you help out to clean their home?

One of my friends claims that it is hard for her to clean her home , Now my friend and I do get into disagreements. I went to go help her out to clean. I even went to Target and Dollar store to get cleaning supplies and organizers. I was making labels for the organizers according to my friend labels are not necessary for example I wrote down pasta my friend goes of on me telling me she knows that is pasta she sees no point on making a label. I'm like okay each into their own ways. Now I organized her closet clothing color cordinated and I clean used bleach my friend got upset because I clean her home with bleach according to her it is bad. So I used pinallen a cleaner my grandmother used always. Anyway to day I went to drop off some shoes she had order from the store and to my surprise my friend's whole house was a mess again and her clothes were everywhere food had no labels nothing was color cordinated. How on earth people get this messy so quickly? Why can't some people just maintain a clean home. I always make sure my home is clean at all time I get up at 3am to clean every inch in my house. Some people just don't like a normal clean environment my friend has serious issues it's no wonder she got sick from covid.

You say you are not CDO, and it's OCD by the way, but I must disagree with you. You don't have normal thoughts just as your friend, only they are on opposite sides of the spectrum. Why would a clean freak keep subjecting herself to an atmosphere she is so damn uncomfortable in, i. e. her messy house. You sound like you have a true phobia of germs, along with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). You are having trouble separating yourself from your friend and the way she does things. Why can't you just accept that is the way she does her home, and be glad you don't live there. A very messy house isn't normal either. But I have said in your other question about this, some people aren't wired to be organized and cleaning. They might have ADHD. I have a friend that has that disorder, and he is very very messy. When I ask him why he lives in such a messy place, he tells me that he just doesn't know where to start cleaning cause everywhere he looks it's messy. If you doubt what I am saying to you, then try to find out why this bothers you so much. Go to a therapist and see if there is anything about you that needs to change.

What I’ve found is this is typically the result of laziness. Pretty much as soon as I’m don’t using something I put it away. I make time to clean and keep things organized. Some people lack the discipline to do this.


As for me my house is always neat and organized.

It depends. Definitely everything is in separate boxes and containers and put in categories. Everything has its own place. So some things are labeled and some are not. Depends on the need. Basically when I want something I want it right now and I want to know exactly where it is and get to it quickly and easily and am able to get it without having to search or go through an unreasonable amount of moving things to get to it. Everything has its own place and goes in its place when done with use. This is my standard and determines if labels are required. If I can’t do as I just said then that means labels are needed for contents for ease of locating them when needed.

We store everything in the basement or closets or shed or garage. I keep an orderly house. I see no other way to live that is sensible. To me it is undignified and foolish to not manage one’s property and time wisely. This is part of stewardship and it is a Biblical principal. It is costly to constantly have to replace items because they got broken, lost, stolen because they were left out. It is not expedient to have a mess. Informality invites reproach. It is not good from a security perspective. It shows a lack of regard for the things God has blessed us with. Everything belongs to God. We are to manage it for his Glory. For his kingdom. How can one perform that duty effectively when things are not orderly? It shows a lack of control in one’s life when this is the norm. It is weak to lack the discipline to care for one’s home and property.

The way you have things organized makes life more practical and much more easier. I will never understand how can someone live in a huge mess. Even in my pantry everything is lable in my home people say that I have issues for having everything label and sorted out and color cordinated. Do you have a particular favorite cleaner?

As far as cleaners it depends on what I need cleaned. CLR is great for heavy duty stains.

Probably I use Lysol general purpose cleaner the most.

I would say because cleaning the house isn't on our fun list. But I don't get why you then go and make a mess. The best way to not have to clean much is to not make a mess.

I didn't make a mess my home is always clean at all times. You meany friends house it was all nasty. This is ridiculous, Cleaning is super important and no I am not CDO.

I wouldn't call it super important, it's just nice. You don't get covid by living in a dirty home. It's not that kind of disease. It all about how many people visiting the space and what they carry. The more people the cleaner you should have to reduce spread between them. If you live alone there is nothing to catch or spread.

I carry my disinfectant wipes at all times. Clean is super important. I always clean my house and I've never had covid. My friend last year was sick with covid, I know why because she never bother to even picking up the mop or used bleach. No wonder she got covid her messy house explains a lot.

Well she also survived it, and I am sure the messy house improve her immune system. Being to clean can actually be bad for you since the body doesn't know how to fight of something if it eventually get something. And there is so much more to do in life, that always cleaning is a sad existence.

How exactly being to clean can affect the immune system? I find it hard to believe I've never had covid.

It's one of the reasons we have more allergies today compared to before when everyone had a busy immune system. When the immune system has too little todo it will start attacking harmless stuff like pollen. The other is of course pollution and other chemicals introduced to the environment.
