Family forcing me to do things I don’t want?

I could really care less about god and religion. My family on the other hand is obsessed. Saturday they along with my brothers bride to be and her family want go to a monastery two hours away to look at wedding favors. I don’t wanna go. I made plans with a friend that night and I just know my family’s going to flip. They’re forcing me to go and I don’t want to. I’m also supposed to get my monthly this week, and I already know i’m gonna be in a crap ton of pain. I don't know

First of all I understand how you feel. At the same time your parents can’t force you to do a damn thing. I don’t like when people say I didn’t have a choice. You always have a choice even if someone had a gun to your head. You may end up dead but you had a choice to do as they said or get shot. But back to your situation. You may not be religious, I get that as I have a hard time believing religion as well. But out of respect for your brother assuming you two have a good relationship I’d go to support him. I’m assuming you’d want them to support however you want to get married one day. Assuming you would like to. Good luck to you.

Sorry for that my dear. The best way you have to escape that event is telling them you will be on your period and it's always so painful you don't feel like doing anything. I know it's an excuse but if you really don't want to go use that on your favor. That sucks.
