Why do some people say sorry all the time?

Or are always seeking other's approval? Is it a sign of low self esteem if someone always apologises?

It’s just a habit or a unconscious response to certain situations.
I have noticed it is most common for those in abusive households or relationships. Abusive parents will consistently blame the child for a wrong doing, the child will be forced to apologize - Which carries on to adulthood. Same with relationships. Partner always blamed the other partner, the partner feels as if it is their fault - Continues to apologize for everything they feel is their fault.
It could also be low self esteem. Those with low self esteem believe that they are inadequate or that they aren’t good enough, etc. which leads them to apologize for being who they are or if they done something wrong. It is a hard habit to break for many people.
Never once have I met someone who does it for attention or to seek one’s approval.

I've seen this a lot, it's usually a trauma response if they are apologising even when they did nothing wrong. My friend was abused as a child and she's a bit like this, I just gently remind her that she doesn't need to apologise as she did nothing wrong. I know she's coming from a good place so it's fine.
