Can you cuss around your parents?

I didn't use to swear around my parents, but within the last 2 to 3 years even my mother drops "fuck" in a sentence every now and then and I say it as well.

And she doesn't care and neither do I.

It's kinda nice not to have to control my tongue anymore to be honest, and it's nice knowing her real opinion as well.

lmao, funny story,

I was at a grocery store and some women was taking her sweet as time and I was running late for church.

I bitched this women out for having to tell her life story the clerk while writing a fucking check and having to do it 3 times cause her pen didn't work.

only 1 aisle open and 10+ people in line all of them obviously annoyed, like holey shit lady pay attention to your surroundings.

well when I finally got to church my mother asked why it took me so long,

I told her some old dumbass couldn't take the time at the store to look behind her and see so many people gettin pissed at her.

I told my mom what I told this lady,
"look you old deaf and blind dumbass, youve been holding up the line for over 10 minutes telling this clerk shit he obvuiuslvy doesn't care about,

I gotta be at "fucking" church in 5 minutes and now that ain't gonna happen because it

was so damn important for you to tell the clerk how you found a fucking apple laying in your car seat one day 10 years ago, pay for your fucking shit and get the fuck outta the gawd damn line",

the look on my moms face was priceless, "you told an older lady you gotta be at "fucking" church"? she asked me?

only then did i realize the hypocrisy that came outta my mouth, and now it makes clear sense why it seemed like that old lady was about to have a heart attack, I do fell like a dick now. But oh well I can't change it.

They dont mind if its every now and then but if its like all the time back to back to back curse words then theyll get annoyed.

Yes, I do. My parents aren’t really fond of it but they realize that kids nowadays are very much accustomed to cussing in schools, music, friends, and even other families… It’s just the norm. I keep it minimal when I do cuss, though.


My parents don’t like it, they don’t think it’s classy or ladylike, but they don’t tell me to stop unless it’s one word after the other. My boyfriend cusses around my parents too. Not my favorite thing that he does, but he’s in the military and he’s young… It’s expected…


It depends on culture and upbringing too. If your parents are from a culture that is fairly traditional or are against cussing, then of course they would get angry. Same with upbringing. If they were raised not to cuss around their parents or in general, then they probably taught their kids the same.

I can around my mum, but not around dad too 😅 It's not that I'm forbidden to cuss in his presence, but I feel uncomfortable swearing in front of him if you get me? I do cuss sometimes around him too, but not often and most of the time I do is when I mutter to myself.

I can around my dad, not around my mom. She'll ignore everything I said just cause I said a curse word, then she'll scold me for that. I always found that to be far more rude
