If you were police, how hard would you throw this dude down?

at 1:30. Dude steals a car with a child inside, then claims she's trying to kill him. Thieves need to learn to submit if they are caught. I would not have the patience these cops have, bless them!

This is not intended as a race question, I don't know the races of most of the people involved nor do I care. If some idiot is going to steal cars with children in them, then they need a good A$$ whippin and re-training. Might as well start with a body slam.

I can only home someone takes on the task of retraining this human.. and the police get some rewards for the dangerous and difficult job they do.

I don't think I'd make a very good police officer at all in the US. I'd be too inclined not to hurt the suspect. I've noticed a tendency in bar brawls that I tend to pull my punches. I never really want to hurt the other person, just defend myself or anyone else they were attacking. I usually end up getting my ass kicked as a result but at least I didn't hurt the other person.

It's kind of a culture shock seeing these American bodycam videos although I've watched a bunch. Sometimes I think the police are too forceful and aggressive in one video but then I'll watch the next video where one was gentler only to have a woman pull out a gun on him out of the blue and start firing.

In Japan, we don't have this violent type of street crime. We have some organized criminals like Yakuza and Triad but they tend to only fight amongst themselves in ways that don't spill out to the streets. So police here are very docile and very reluctant to use any force, yet they can be in a reasonably safe way with the relatively low crime rates.

Man I can relate to you. You have a golden heart with the passion of a super hero.
You fundamentally care about the well being of others and probably would sacrafice yourself to save others.

I feel the same, like when I'd compete racing, I remember being out front... feeling bad for the others... like where are they? I wasn't always out front. I didn't want to hurt others.
I think this is some aspect of personality, attachment style, empathy... greater aspects of our souls that may not be free yet or developed.

I wouldn't make a good cop. I have empathy for this criminal to get his life in order, but if I could, I'd probably rough him up for his own good... out of love and disgust for what he had become. I can relate to why cops do that.

I might be able to do better with some training. I never quite got fully desensitized with respect to that pesky empathy thing. It's not the manliest of my qualities throwing a punch and then rushing up to the person and seeing if they're all right in the very rare instances I might have actually seriously fought back for a second.

I like the idea of being a fireman more than a police officer or especially a soldier. I'm similar on the empathy side towards the thug. He seems like he might have serious psychological issues. I think I could be more motivated to be forceful if I saw him hitting the child. I tend to be more motivated if I'm trying to protect someone else than in self-defense.

As for sacrificing myself on behalf of others, that might be one of the nobler things I might be able to do. I usually don't register it as a sacrifice in those rare scenarios; it's more like I don't register the full risk. I don't think hard and long enough in those cases and become very impulsive. I never got it in my head even when I was a child though that I was destined to live so long; I just wanted to be able to die without major moral/ethical regrets whenever my time will come.

I think they handled it well. It's a cop's job to apprehend people, not meet out punishment. I absolutely oppose causing pain and injury when not necessary. Cops who do that are thugs who should be terminated or prosecuted.

I wouldn't qualify for the badge for long. I'd go GTA V Trevor Phillips on that weasel! Car battery, pliers and all!

The man has obvious mental issues and the police did an excellent job of subduing him.
