Isn't it ironic that even former players want their daughters happily married?

Many men are opting out of marriage and have valid complains about modern women but yet their opinons change if they have a daughter. They don't want their daughter to be string along, to be taken advantage of or lied to. They want her to be happily married. They want her dream of marriage and kids fullfilled. The very same man that said there is little incentives for men to get married... is advicing her in favor of marriage, even going against his own gender in telling her how guys can be jerks and player... he wants his girl to be the winner.

A former player was advicing his 19 year-old daughter to wait till marriage. In his own words he said ''Sweetheart there are too many wolves. I was their age once. I know the game. Don't live together, wait till marriage.''

Even though it's valid what they feel do you find this ironic?

There is no irony here, only logic parental instinct and human nature.

Parents want the best for their child, and what is best for that child depends on whether they are male or female.

Marriage is clearly beneficial for a woman, for lots of obvious reasons, so it's natural that a parent of a female child would encourage her to get married.

Marriage today is clearly very risky and costly for a man, with lots of drawbacks and far fewer benefits, so it's natural that a parent of a male child would discourage him from getting married.

well marriage is a good thing for women, but for men it is usually a trap, a marriage for a woman can mean if they divorce she gets well taken care of if her husband has a decent house and job, but for a man he might lose that house or in some cases pay for it while she stays in it

This is what I've been hearing. Yet those very same men don't want their daughters string along nor get taken advantage of. They don't want a guy to waste her year and not proceed with marriage.

Those very same men want their daughters to be in the winning end. It's interesting how those men's opinion changed so fast when their it's about their daughter and them looking out for her best interest. They suddenly don't care about the guy losing but their daughter winning, their daughter being happy.

because they are their kid, if it is a flawed system your kid may as well benefit, you just have to make sure to warn your son so he isn't used by it

Absolutely nonsense. She should live and enjoy life before she's married and be ready to settle down once married. Waiting till marriage is what's making infidelity happen in marriage leading to divorce.

Why is it ironic that fathers want the best for both their sons and their daughters? And as you eluded to, that means something different for a son than it does for a daughter.

Girls do the same, after sleeping around with players they search for good guys who will love them, stick around and marry them and they too preach to their daughters about not dating badly.
