Prom? Help! What should I expect?

First off. No, I am not 31-35.
prom is in 3 weeks at my school. I have never been and I have no clue what to expect! I’m going with my friends as of right now. What is dancing like? Is it social, or should I take dancing classes? Is it weird to go with friends? What kind of music do they play? How long does it go? What is the after party like? Help! 😂
Also is this a good enough dress?

I say it's actually BEST to go with friends. Pretty much guarantees a good time.

That dress is fine if that's what you wanna go with. It looks good but not over the top.

You should definitely take some dancing lessons if you have the chance. It can only improve your experience, but it's not a requirement.

The rest depends on you and your friends. The dance will last several hours, but LOTS of people only show up to take pictures and dance a couple dances and then they leave to go do "other things". Depends on your group and what they wanna do.
