Technically, yes. Twenty six means you're not only a legal adult but doctors and psychologists believe 26 is when you've fully matured into a full grown adult, not only physically but mentally as well. So, it's sort of expected that you be out on your own, making your own kids. But, if you can't afford it, and your parents are ok paying rent to live at home, then that's still ok.

I'm 33 and I pay rent to my parents. I don't make enough to move out on my own, nor do I want to move out. I don't want to live on my own. I'm an only child, and all my friends are married

Nowadays I would have to say NO & with the price of rent, mortgages & everything else I’m sure a lot of people still live at home.
