Are soldiers good at fighting?

It depends, not everyone who is a soldier or even a martial artist can hold their own in a fight. The average soldier should be able to defend themselves successfully in a hand to hand combat situation with a civilian with no fighting skills or training.

It’s not always guarantee because you have to factor in height, weight, physical shape , arm length and many other variables can alter the probability of the fight going one way or another.

However if I’m a betting man, I’d put my money on the soldier versus a non trained civilian.

Don't know tbh. Wife is, former soldier of fortune. Same with a few mates that was in special forces sent from Norway to afghan for a few years. But then again, all of them also had martial arts training.
Would belive all get some sort of fighting training, how to disarm a person quick, neutraliz them quick etc. Never been in the military, did not get drafted, so do not know. Never asked.

They are trained for combat, but there are different kinds of soldiers. Some will be better fighters, or one will be more formidable with one weapon than the other. But I think their will and resolve is their strongest weapon. You should look at the training they go too, not only do they learn combat but they learn to go far beyond their limit. Not just on a physical level.

Being trained to kill with an array of weaponry and also hand to hand combat I'd wager the answer to be... erm? Yes or at least I bloody well hope so as if not what would the point be in them even being a soldier? Considering that having the ability to fight is one of the main essential parts of the job really!

In theory yes but in reality they are only as good as the political will of those giving their officers their missions. Iraq and Afghanistan could have been over in 20 days not 20 years if the troops were allowed to do their jobs and the politicians without any military experience were more concerned with victory than profits for the military industrial complex

Some are. Some not so much. They do spend time in training, both for physical fitness and in the use of their weapons, so presumably they are better than the average man. Could they beat a trained MMA fighter in hand-to-hand combat? Mostly no.

A soldier is only good as the soldiers next too him it's a team effort going in too battle one weak link can get everyone killed but yes if we follow our training we are all great soldiers at fighting 💪🏽!

I would say my team was skilled at their special craft when I was in the military. We loved our jobs we completed the mission. We had each other's back.
