What do you think about parents telling their daughter to cover up because company is coming?

Context: visited a boarding school friend I've not seen for years. I was about to leave because he was having company soon and his 13 year old daughter comes walking out of her room wearing shorts & a tank top and he turns to her and tells her to cover up because the guys are coming. I was shocked and appalled, remember being told the same as a kid & it made me just as uncomfortable to witness as it was to experience.

well it’s similar to if a worker is talking to their boss at work. Would they wear a tank top in front of their boss? Prob not

My parents would have told me to put some more clothes on if I was wearing that when company came over. I don't support policing just women's clothing though. It's ok as long as they would have said the same to their son
