I rushed my wife to the hospital in one town, but it was a false alarm. We ended up staying the night there. Then the next morning she started having contractions again. Our fucking doctor was on holidays (Because apparently he forgot we would be having this baby) and there was nobody there even qualified to deliver a baby. I drove my wife an hour to a city and took her to the hospital there. The doctor on duty was busy with some other operation. My wife was hooked up to some kind of machine that was monitoring the baby's heart rate. Our baby's heart stopped and I ran for a nurse. We wheeled my wife to the emergency room for an emergency C-section.
They wouldn't let me in there and I was freaking out. They got my son's heart beating again and brought him to me in the nursery while my wife recovered. I opened the blanket and saw his little face. He was looking around and I was like "Holy shit I have a kid now" lol. I felt an incredible need to protect him after that.
I remember holding him and hearing him breathing and being so thankful.

My wife had C-sections but I was present for all three. It was a fascinating process. I remember my youngest son, he peed all over the place when the doctor pulled him out.
